6 Games Like Summoners War That You Need to Play

other Jan 25, 2024

Summoners War is one of the oldest and arguably the most popular turn-based mobile RPGs out there. Hailed as one of the best mobile games of all time, the game features great visuals, awesome collaborative events, and an active community with engaging developers who keep introducing new features and characters to keep the game exciting.

With that said many games in the genre that are worth playing have come around over the years. In this article, we take a look at games like Summoners War, which share some similarities, making them worth playing for any seasoned fan of the title.

Games Like Summoners War: Our Top Picks

Here’s our pick of games that are like Summoners War, which you should definitely check out.

1. Raid: Shadow Legends - One of the Best Games like Summoners War

Raid: Shadow Legends and Summoners War often feel like carbon copies of each other at times. Both games have guild battles and generally share the same core mechanics when it comes to grinding and strategy.

However, Summoners War has a lot more champions that have great potential to be used in the end game, more events, and tends to offer a lot more free items than Raid: Shadow Legends. However, in terms of visuals, Raid: Shadow Legends looks far better, with an emphasis on fidelity and aesthetics over all else.

2. Cookie Run: Kingdom

Cookie Run: Kingdom is a turn-based collection RPG that is very similar to Summoners War. Both games have extremely unique characters, with each having a village or Sky Island that allows them to collect, produce, and decorate.

In fact, Com2uS and Devsisters, the developers of Summoners War and Cookie Run: Kingdom, also had a Crossover event at one point, titled the D-Day Event on the 22nd of August, 2022, which brought unique new characters and timed events to both games.

3. Epic Seven

Epic Seven is another turn-based Gacha game that has taken a lot of inspiration from Summoners War over the years. Known as one of the most beautiful 2D Gacha games ever released, Epic Seven had an extremely strong start, promising tons of feature and content updates with an emphasis on keeping the game as F2P-friendly as possible.

But, as time went on, Epic Seven’s marketing relatively dwindled, with a lower number of events and the gameplay falling short of what was promised. In recent times, though, the developers have certainly stepped up, and the game has amassed a sizable player base.

If you are someone who appreciates 2D-classic art style and wants to join an emerging game that hasn’t yet been able to solidify its footing, Epic Seven is an excellent game to try out since its core gameplay is quite enticing.

4. Dislyte

Dislyte is another turn-based Gacha game that possesses an extremely unique art style, emphasizing character design and its soundtrack. The game has extremely intelligent AI, dungeons, and rune sets, which makes it a game like Summoners War.

Plus, for a Gacha game, it has a generous amount of free-to-play content, with your energy and crystals that you get from events enough to run you through a day of casual gameplay. There isn’t a lot of gated content in the game, either. However, you’ll often find yourself unable to move through late-game guild content without pulling newer units, which end up costing money.

It is a great title and worth a shot if you play Summoners War. But it doesn’t seem to hold the same replayability as its contender.

5. Idle Heroes

Idle Heroes, as the name suggests, is an idle-centric Gacha game that is meant for the more casual player rather than the seasoned grinder. When compared to games like Summoners War, it lacks variety, both in terms of character and gameplay.

However, it makes up for it by being far more lenient when it comes to providing a more casual F2P experience. It has less expensive packs, and there still is a lot to do in the game, even if you are a free-to-play player. For the Gacha grinder, Summoners War will always reign supreme.

But, if you are someone who wants to get into the world of Idle games and may be intimidated by Summoners War, Idle Heroes is a great place to start.

6. MARVEL Strike Force: Squad RPG

Feel like Spider-Man? Well, now you can play him and other exciting MARVEL heroes in their officially licensed mobile RPG, Strike Force. While the gameplay loop is quite fun, with great visuals, the game is extremely gacha-centric, with almost no free-to-play content.

The Red Star System, for example, is completely based on luck, and there’s hardly any communication between the developers and the community to improve the game’s current marketplace.

All that aside, if you want to play around with some of your favorite MARVEL characters, with some of them even being voiced by their original voice actors, Strike Force is a solid, casual game that you can definitely dig a few hours in.
